From them came Bragi, a creature of balance who possesses both the strength to protect ancient lore and the wings to find it in the furthest reaches of the multiverse. Bragi’s true magic, however, lies in his curiosity. He doesn’t just collect shards; he reads them, living a thousand lives through the pages he hoards. He is the guardian of our Floating Library, forever searching the horizon for the next great story to add to his legendary bookshelf.
Meet the High Council: Our Story
We are a family of four—plus one very fluffy dog—based right here in Richmond, Virginia. Life can be stressful, but for us, fantasy books have always been a portal to magic, comfort, and escape.
We started this bookstore because we love stories, but more importantly, because we want to build a sanctuary.
Why We're Building This Space:
- A Family Passion: We are a family of voracious readers. From epic world-building to enchanting contemporary tales, each of us (including our two teenagers) brings a unique love for the genre to our curated shelves.
- A Safe Haven for All: As parents, one of our deepest missions is to create a meaningful, supportive future for our autistic daughter. Our goal is for this bookstore to be a safe, empowering, and celebrated place for individuals with disabilities.
- Celebrating Diverse Voices: Magic belongs to everyone. We are fiercely dedicated to championing diverse authors and stories that reflect the beautiful tapestry of our world.
- Providing Enchanted Customer Service: We believe human connection is the real magic. We are fiercely passionate about providing elite, personalized service that makes you feel valued every time you connect with us.
Right now, our adventure is starting online, sending curated magic straight to your doorstep. But our ultimate dream is a brick-and-mortar storefront in Richmond—a cozy, legendary library where everyone feels welcome, valued, and safe.
